ABHA or Ayushman Bharat Health Account is a 14-digit unique health identifier issued to every Indian citizen by the National Health Authority. It is the foundation of India's national digital health ecosystem known as ABDM.
Creating an ABHA ID is free takes under 5 minutes and requires only your Aadhaar or mobile number. Once created it becomes your single health identity across all providers who are part of the ABDM network.
Your health records are stored in FHIR R4 format inside the ABDM Health Locker. They are not held by Unified Indian Healthcare. They are held in your ABHA-linked profile on government infrastructure which you own and control.
